Hello, I have some questions about leveling my tank. I purchased a 33long to set up as a frag tank. For those that dont know its 48l×13w×12h. I have the aquarium on carpet and it is not level. I have it filled about 3/4 full. There is about 1/2" drop in water level across the 48"length of the tank. I placed 5 wood shims about an inch apart to try to level it but it is still not level. The questions I have are,
Can I add another shim below each of the 5 that are already in place to try to level it? Are these shims going to create pressure points on my stand that could compromise its integrity? How perfectly level does it need to be? I can understand the importance on very large tanks but this is not very large tank volume wise. I have never had to level a tank before. Thanks

If you have a 1/2" drop across the front, you need a 1/2" shim. Which happens to be the most common side of plywood available. Scraps are everywhere, I'd cut a plywood shim for the end.

Thank goodness. I thought I was the only one with a really messed up floor!

@dugthefish Can I just stack 2 or 3 of the shims underneath each other?

@dugthefish, that was going to be my next question, I was figuring they would need to be stacked flat or the angle would end up being too steep. Thanks
