So I have set up my Red Sea on carpet as it is the only reasonable spot in my house. My concern is stress in the front left corner of the tank. The rest of tank is level but it sinks in the one corner about an 1/8 inch. Am I screwed? Am I draining this pig?

Given that most (all?) of the Red Sea failures are with the front panel, I would absolutely drain it and level again.

Looks like I have work after work tomorrow yeah better safe than sorry I appreciate your opinion. Now I’ll have to see if the feet are adjustable because the carpet is deep and these stands are more tall than wide. They are sketchy to me.

Carpet just plain sucks under a tank. Sorry but I've been there done that more than once. Its very hard to level and can even settle after filled and sitting a while. The carpet is going to get wet its just a matter of how wet and is it going to dry before it molds, most likely not as it will wick under the tank. I would cut the carpet out of that corner and go bare floor, a piece of plywood or even better yet some laminate waterproof flooring. You could frame the area in with matching molding and have easy cleanup from spills be it water, food etc. and it would look nice. No need to worry about saving the carpet. If you have the tank there very long the carpet will be crap underneath it anyhow.

Honestly after this weighing on my mind last night, it is most likely the best idea! This has been a month in the process so another minor set back is alright. At the end of the day I want to sleep at night. I appreciate your input thank you!

So I have decided to move it to the living room it has the waterproof flooring again it’s out of level I have bought shims and have scrap wood from various jobs I did. What is the best/safest way to raise one side, is it safe to have support legs on shims. If I shim one side will center supports not touch ground if so would that be an issue. TIA

If the stand is on the four rubber feet, then I would drain it and remove the feet. I do believe that will cause issues.

just keep your rocks in water if its going to take a bit and you wont really set back at all since the only place your cycle is going to grow is on those rocks.

Also I would consider adding a couple more rocks if you are going bare bottom ;)
