Leveling stand.

So setting up a Nuvo 100EXT. In a 100 year old house, so things arnt level. I’ve leveled the stand in the front corners using extra laminate flooring and some rubber leveling mat. But now the front of the stand is off the floor. Is this acceptable or do I need to go another route? Obviously ideally you’d want the whole bottom touching to distribute weight evenly. Any other ideas how to accomplish this?

I had a similar situation in my old house and we leveled the corners with shims then pounded additional shims in the whole length, readjusting as the tank was filling with water.

I’ve read posts where eventual glass failures have come from not properly leveling a tank. You might build a platform on the old uneven flooring then set the tank stand on it.

Stuff will get under that.
It really should be flat on the floor for maximum weight distribution as you said.
Easy for me to say though.

Buy ceramic shims at lowes or home depot. Usually in the lumber or build area.
Tap them in. To where ur tank is level. Pull them out. Snap em off at the point u want. Use the piece u break off to tap the shim back into place. Hths. Lmk if you need a picture of the shims. They are brown and plastic.

The floors in my last 2 houses have been similar.

I put a strip of wood the length of the front of the stand that would compensate for most of that space. Then level the stand off that strip of wood, and fill in any spaces with shims.

No need to go crazy filling in every space.

I would also consider reinforcing the floor, if possible. But I have been in my current place 10 plus years and haven't...

You could build a leveled platform to put the stand on if that is an option? I did that with my last stand because I simply wanted to add height to my stand to make the tank at more of an eye level.

Yeah shims are quicker and easier, only reason I made the platform was to have it at eye level.

Looking at the stand without the pieces I put in, the stand itself sits about 1/8 inch off the ground since the corner beam have little plastic pads. I would assume aluminum beams shouldn't bend on this APS stand?

Plain old wood shims are just fine. Can buy a bundle of them cheap. tap them in, score them at the edge of the stand and snap them off.. Simple, effective, and inexpensive.

I wouldnt want wood ones to absorb sw and swell or soften.
