Hello everyone! I'm working back towards having a tank again after basically two years of a lone nano.

Jumping in feet first and setting up my 240 acrylic. I'm having trouble getting the stand level. I'm on a concrete floor, so there isn't a issue of the floor warping any underneath.

Tank is 8 feet long and I'm currently showing a 1/2" off even with the other end already shimmer up 1/2". Then shims placed under along the stand for support.

Help! What can I do?

Did you check the concrete?

My basement's concrete is high in the middle, for example. Which makes it extremely difficult to level any tank I put against the wall...

Hello, That's a lot of drop in the slab ! Shimming between the floor & stand would be my choice. I think the corners are the most important. What kind of shims do you have now? Not sure where But I'm sure there are larger plastic shims. Even Leveling bolts that can be installed in the corners. An 8 ft tank will have considerable weight so this will have to be done carefully.

I know concrete is off. That's where I'm having the issue. It's higher one side then the other.

@cracker weight is my concern. Right now I have composite shims I am using, but I do have Abby cchnof the old wooden stand by.

If I get it close, would a piece of foam board under the tank help out?

Find a tile person/friend and have them level the floor under the tank;)

I'm not a fan of foam between the stand & tank. Might depend on how close Ya get it of course. We will have to hear what others say.

good idea ! Jsker , A piece of tile to get it close & shims to get what little id left. Also don''t forget it needs to be level diagonally . (lft rear corner to rht front) Ya don't want any twist/torque of the tank.

I've thought of doing the self leveling concrete. Not sure it's really that drastic though
With that weight, this would be the simplest and most foolproof method.

Self leveling is where I keep coming back to. It's my last choice, but what I think is the right thing to do.
