Just tested my major parameters and they are a little high.
Alkalinity is at 9
Calcium is at 500
Magnesium is at 1500.
Salinity at 34.6ppm

Is there something I should do to bring those levels down? I was worried I may need to start dosing those elements but it seems I was wrong. Used salifert tests and a refractometer. Using the red sea coral pro salt.

You will probably find if your using Coral Pro you may not need to dose for some time as simple weekly water changes will keep the levels steady depending on how established the tank is.

The Coral Pro mixes to fairly high levels as standard, so if you want to lower them you will need to change salt to maybe the standard Red Sea salt. I’ve used both and currently use the standard version with full dosing

Those levels although not perfect are a little raised but I wouldn’t be to concerned yet. My Magnesium is often at 1500 and calcium although I target around 420 creeps up from time to time.

I'ld just let it ride... Those levels aren't extremely bad and will drop on their own. Most of us have the opposite problem keeping them there.

Just got lucky and a local fish store by me has been closing down. Owner text me yesterday to come pick up all the coral he had left for free. All were neglected and need to be nursed back to health. Just want to make sure my tank is a good environment
