I really want to put a refugium in my sump area, but I've got a space issue.

I've got a 425XL Reefer and I'm thinking of getting a baffle kit like the one in the picture below. The only issue is I've plumbed in a manifold along the back that has two reactors hovering inches above the water in the sump. Meaning I can't put my skimmer in the back because it's too tall, it will have to set up front.

Essentially my question is, looking at the picture below as an example could I swap the refugium area and the skimmer placement? Have my skimmer sitting in the front area of the baffle and stick the refugium in the back area.

Before I commit to this I want to ask people with experience, am I missing something that would cause this not to work as expected, or be inefficient in some way?

So is this a really dumb question.. or just a boring one?

I have the Reefer 425xl and my fuge is set up exactly like the picture you posted. I also had 2 reactors similar to you but cut one out and stacked my carbon and GFO so they fit in one reactor.

The best thing I ever did for phosphate was remove the refugium from both my tanks.

I've been hearing nothing but good things about refugiums, what are you doing for phos export then?

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
