Not uncommon for businesses that sell fish, wether LFS or wholesaler. Yes you can run copper all the time. There are parameters to keep it at if you want to do that. In the old days some did that at all times, but remember no inverts. Thats also reason why you never put water from LFS in your tank.

BTW- the three fish i got from then last week are doing fantastic. bluespot jawfish, red tail tamarin wrasse, and female genocanthus angel.

So its safe to add fish to display from them I guess

Johnny- as safe as it is to add fish from anywhere else. Unfortunately its always a gamble.

IMHO- your best bet is to evaluate a fish you are buying. Look for signs of disease. Is the fish acting normal, is he scratching every five minutes, is he laying on the floor, are the eyes clear, are the fins intact? Just observe for a while before you buy. For finicky fish I try to get them to feed it before i buy. If its not eating then i have to make the decision on whether I can get it to eat. If its eating the decision is easier, etc....

Realize that all LFS get fish from wholesalers. Some have more than one source. How are you to know what wholesaler they got it from and what does that wholesaler do to their newly acquired fish. Some wholesalers quarantine, MOST dont.

Whats to say that the fish was PERFECT, but dies in your tank after a few days because YOUR tank couldn't meet its needs, wether because of aggression from tank mates, disease in one of your current fish, it doesnt like what you feed, you water quality isnt to its liking etc.....

Another option is for YOU to quarantine. Many people do, i dont because i dont have the time or care to set up another temporary tank. and IMHO, bare quarantine tanks have an element of stress in and of itself. Just IMHO, Dont fry me on this folks. Its my opinion.

They seem like nice people. I just hate not having price on the tank. It's really frustrating asking for everything

sadly i dont think there is a store ive been in that had everything marked, and the one that does isnt correct all the time (allfish).

Just curious Jonny- what store are you referring too?

Im just curious. I agree with you on the price labels. I rarely go to LFS, except for fish, and frozen food.. Most, if not all my corals are from other reefers. Dry goods, online.

Well I went to marine net. I'm not happy about any store without prices
