LF Solutions - Removable Rear Glass Covering

I have painted the back glass of all my previous aquariums after my original 40b tank. This always looked a lot cleaner to me. Hides plumbing and wires running down the back glass.

However, with my newest build, I'll have access to all four sides of the tank (with it being in-wall) and while working from the fish-room on the backside of my main display, I would like to ability to remove the "back cover" to seamlessly work without an obstructed view..

..Did I mention I also only have 15" of space above the tank to work? It would be much easier to be able to view through the rear glass..

What solutions have you, or the R2R community come up with?

Some of my goals/requirements:

• Must be easily removed and re-applied
• Must be 100% non-transparent
• Not insanely expensive

Sorry to say I've never heard of something that is both removable and looks good. The tiny gap between glass and whatever you put against it just ruins the effect. On my first tank I even tried that "SeaView" stuff to make a background stick on better. It helped but still looked janky and it wouldn't be convenient to remove/replace. But I guess black poster board of some kind might be your best bet - better than seeing through the tank into the fishroom for sure.

A piece of black acrylic or plastic may be best for you in this sort of situation. You could perhaps fabricate some clips to hold it on to the back glass or something.

Thank you both for responses. My thought was hanging two pieces of black plastic board that would exceed the height and width so you can't see if from the front of the tank. Was unsure how this would look though.

Someone has to have an ingenious or creative solution out there somewhere!
