I saw my LFS had these trimma gobies in stock. I know they rarely end up being in the trade and was wondering if I should invest in them. They seem a little expensive but was wondering just how “rare” they are.

Depends on the species... there is one deep water species off Palau which was first observed in 1997 and hasn't been seen again until this year... so I guess that'd be kinda rare... 2 in 20 years!

Whereas T.cana is pretty common, LA sell them for $29.99.

Most LFS can get them, it is more of whether they think they have the customer base for them.
