Bacterial infection: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/bacterial-infections.191511/

I wouldn't play around, as it looks serious. Hit him with these three meds in a QT: Furan-2, Seachem Kanaplex, Seachem Metroplex

Also, oftentimes these infections are secondary in nature to a preexisting parasitic infestation such as ich or velvet.

Ok thats what I said I thought it was a bacterial infection. Second question. This is a LFS, with about 20 tanks linked together. I see other fish in other tanks looking the same way. These tanks have no coral. I believe he said he keeps mild amount of copper full time in the system. Whats next.

Unless your are really good friends with the owner and you are very careful and able to control your words and emotions...I would just walk away. If they are not able to recognize the problems and do not have a facility to care for the fish it will not be to long until they are out of business. I know that sounds terrible but unless you want to buy all the fish and take them home to your hospital tanks what options do you have? I am sorry to hear that the LFS has this problem and the fish are up for sale in their tanks.

I often have the same feelings when I see children with less than a good home life...it is a helpless feeling.

Wish you well if you take the risk to speak to the owner.

Ya its a bran new LFS. I had high hopes it would be different. Obviously they don't practice any type of QT or disease prevention. And like you said for the fact that they have these fish in display tanks is too much. Its like going into a pet store and having a bunch of dogs and cats with diseases for sale on display.

The tang needs to be isolated away from all the rest of the fish and treated in a separate QT. Most likely, the other fish will be able to fight off any harmful bacterium via their natural immune system... but running a UV to zap any free floating bacteria would also be a good idea right now. If symptoms start to spread to the other fish, the LFS may need to dose antibiotics into the entire system.

However, I would also pay heed to what @Lowell Lemon said. Many LFS owners get offended/embarrassed when you point out diseases to them, and will dig in their heels instead of treat.
