I am receiving my Dwarf golden moray eel tomorrow and ordered a tank lid over the weekend and it came in yesterday. I have a few slight dilemmas with it however.. I am in the process of putting an overflow on my tank and its an external overflow, I was going to originally put the lid down then cut a slight spot to be bale to attach and hang the overflow.. but then thought of another dilemma..

I cant access my tank at all then cause I would have to remove the lid to do so. Which then means removing my overflow... Not practical. Does anyone know of any places with either custom lids that create say doors or whatnot so I can access the tank yet keep the lid on? I could attempt to cut my lid and was going to at first as it wont be too difficult.. but then I highly doubt it will stay secured for the eel if I start slicing through it.

Wow, both of you guys have listed the people I've reached out to. A little skeptical cause of the crazy long wait from artfully aquatics however.

In this day of instant gratification it's tough to buy something and have to wait for your order to make it into production, then wait for it to be made and shipped.
These are custom made tops for most ( not factory cutouts).
Amazon prime really spoils us.

Those are nice but I need one for our new 750xxl but it has a 156.86 freight cost to boot on top of the price of the screen from Artfully Acrylic.. 442.86 total is
way pricey!

following too:)
My top for my 72" long x 30" wide euro-braced tank was only in the $300 range with $75 for shipping

I just tried to enter an order on their sight and the freight that came up was the 156.86 that's all I was saying 75.00 seems more in line for the size of the box it
would be in.

I made my own with some screenning and framing from home depot, however its not really practical at the current state unless I sat down and really figured it all out. It wouldn't be professional quality however

Tell you the truth, the $75 kind of hurt. lol

I just saw a thread from Octo lids yesterday. Apparently he was the first to make these kind of lids. I will probably hit him up for a lid as well being the wait time looks to be much shorter then the others

For my tank I got a local plastic company to custom make 3 acrylic lids with 15 5mm holes drilled in each. Each panel covers a third of my tank, middle covers the overflow. Works well....

That's one way to build up a post count. lol!

You might find out after a while that acrylic tends to warp after a while.
