Lid for Red Sea Max C 130

So I’m taking the hood off of this tank to install an AI Prime and I don’t think any lids come in this size. I measure the top rim that a lid could sit on and it’s 23.4 inches across and about 14.5 inches front to back.

I’ve been looking for the DIY kits and none really cover this size. Most start at 2ftx2ft. Does anyone have any ideas for how I can either purchase a lid for this or possibly make one? I’m not VERY handy but I can give it a shot if necessary.

@cromag27 at Octo Aquatics can probably custom make a lid for you or, on as a DIY solution, you may want to consider a DIY aquarium screen top kit from Bulk Reef Supply (they carry them for both rimmed and rimless tanks). Good luck!

The 2'x2' kit will work on that tank. You have to trim the frame pieces to fit. I've used the Red Sea kit to make a lid for my RS 170 and also used the BRS kit to make a lid for my RO Tlux90. Measure twice and cut once.

Is the frame meant to be trimmed easily or will I have to use my best judgement?

The frame pieces are aluminum and need to be cut with a hack saw. You would need to measure the inside of the tank where the lid will sit. Then cut the aluminum frame pieces. The kit has pretty good instructions. I've had the Red Sea lid on my 170 for almost 2 years with no problems. It's light and the net has stayed put. I don't see much difference between the BRS version and RS.

Egg crate interlocking off ebay ...just leaves a small gap at the back ,maybe cut another 2 down to size ..I need to know how to take lid off without destroying it ? In case I put it back on
