Hi,

I purchased a tank recently that has an inward lip.
I want to be 100% certain nothing can jump so I want to make a cover however, I haven't been able to find any method for DIY lids for tanks with inward lips.

Checkout my attached image to see the lip.

The only thing I can think of at this point would be to glue something to the glass to allow for me to fit a mesh lid in there or make a sliding glass lid. I don't care which.

Any ideas?

Thanks everyone.

You could always just lay a mesh cover over top. Or if you want it to look nice you could cut thin strips of acrylic and glue them around the opening to make a frame and place the mesh cover inside of that

That lip is a euro brace. Nice tank. Whats the purpose of the lid? To keep fish from jumping, or to hide the lights and top of the tank

I cut 2 small pieces of ABS plastic and glued to the top of the frame to flush mount it. The rear sits on top of the overflow box, the 2 rear corners are notched for my gyre wires.

I used this kit and netting from amazon -

DIY Screen Top Frame - http://amzn.to/2rZOOcb

Screen Top Netting - http://amzn.to/2sXLprY

Add a $5 dollar spline roller and you are done! I did have to cut the frame to fit my tank, hacksaw cuts it without any problems.

2 or 3 pieces of glass allways works

The purpose is to keep the fish from jumping.
You all gave me some good ideas. I appreciate it.
