Hey there,

What lids are you guys using on your tanks? I have a rimless so minimalist is key. I've heard the Red Sea lids are a pain. Unfortunately, two other recommendations Clearview and Reef Tops are both 6+ months out from what I see. Any thoughts?

Really like my clear view lid.
octo aquatics (@cromag27) also does great work.

Top Lids made an amazing lid for my tank. Vented and all one piece, not like the puzzle piece frames others do. They made it to my specs I provided on their order form and it fits perfectly. One tip is whatever lead time they give you, double it. Mine took a little over 2 months to get to me.

Artfully acrylic lids are not a 6 month wait (at least I hope not). I’m waiting for one at the moment. One of the few custom manufacturers that post their wait times and try to stick to them:

I went for the DD jumpguard and am very happy with it. It is DIY, but two simple things make it go smoothly:
  1. If you don’t have tools, buy a cheap miter box and a fine tooth hack saw to get clean and straight cuts
  2. Measure carefully
Very happy with how clean it looks with the black mesh and sitting flush with the rimless tank. I think the custom acrylic lids (besides being expensive and having long lead times) are much more visually obtrusive as they refract light outwards.
