Lid

I need to make a lid this weekend. Plan is picking up a screen frame kit and build it out. What material should I use? I'm looking at the black bird net. Does it matter?

Standard home Depot/Lowe's screen kit works. For the screen, you need to consider hole size and material. I went with black netting but 1/2" size for aesthetics. Most ppl go with 1/4" netting.

Did you get the screen material at HD?

Did you have to adjust your lighting at all with it being black? 1/2 is plenty I think.... the odds anything getting through....

That was another reason for going with 1/2". With 1/2" I didn't have to adjust. 1/4" black looked visibly darker. 1/4" clear was fine as is though. Clear was very reflective and I didn't like the look

Early on I did have a young 6 line wrasse make it through 1/2". Now my six line is super fat. If he tries to jump he'll probably get stuck.

Thats crazy. I have a firefish that likes to jump...

I really recommend the 1/4" then
