Life expectancy of snails

Lost my 3rd trochus snail today. Pretty sure the CUC made quick work of it after. Everything else in my tank is healthy . Is it just the way it goes with snails? Disposable ?

It all depends if your hermit crabs eat them or not...

I have some nassarius snails that are over three years old. Trochus and Cerith I would say more like 1.5-2, but their numbers are certainly dwindling.

I’ve seen my hermits and snails go at it but never think too much of it. The snail is giant compared to hermit but I guess the snail doesn’t have any form of defense. Circle of life I suppose lol
