Hey everyone, my name is Jay, I'm new here and I'm trying to put together a 20 gallon long nano reef. I have experience with fresh water but this is my first salt water. I have most everything i need to get my tank up and cycling. Just received my Caribsea life rock today and was wondering what I need to do to the rock, rinse it...don't rinse it. I've done some research and from what I found it doesn't need to be cured? Everything is true on the internet right? Anyway, I just want to make sure I don't fail before I get started. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hey that's good rock. It's just set into place, fill with saltwater. Wait two weeks, it's done

The bacteria is painted in the coralline paint on the rock. hydrate it and wait two weeks you don't have to tediously test that's how liferock works. Post pics if you can it should be heavy purple and look real but sold to you dry. it needs only sw not feed etc. two weeks

If you do want to test for proof at the end you can, there's a way to make an ammonia test prove the rocks are ready.

Welcome to the forum! If it's dry rock I personally would rinse it first, using rodi water is usually a good idea. Otherwise set it up and get your tank cycling, I hope you enjoy your new adventure!
