I got a Lifegard ProMax UV sterilizer and I'm trying to find what size of PVC bushing I need so I can get this plumbed. I've looked in the manual, searched the web, and sent an email to Lifegard support (never received a reply and it's been a few months). I can't seem to turn up any information on this issue. I even measured the pipe with my calipers and got 2.376" ID, 2.759" OD, and 0.187" wall thickness, which does not correlate to any PVC dimensions or reference charts I can find. So, can someone that owns a ProMax please post what size and schedule of PVC bushing is required to fit inside of the inlet / outlet pipes?

This is what I did. 2” to 1” barb adapter. Take the black 45 with you to Menards. I did not hard line mine. It’s on a 2nd return pump.

Do you remember if that is sched 40 or sched 80 by chance?

I unfortunately don't have any kind of hardware store near me that stocks PVC bushing or I would've done this already. So I've gotta order them online and don't want to spend a small fortune on ordering a bunch of different sizes that I'll never use. Going to a 1" bard is also what I plan to do as well, I'm not a fan of hard line tubing in my reef equipment or my PC builds, haha.

Is it in metric?
It shouldn't be. All of the measurements and diagrams of everything else for the unit are in inches. I know that most PVC pipes measure 'off', short of speak, so it should be in inches. I'm fairly certain it takes a 2" spigot bushing, but the schedule is what's really got me dumbfounded due to the measurements I took.

I just plumbed mine today. It is 2" 40 PVC. It does say 2" in the manual. I reduced mine to 3/4” since that was the outlet of my return pump.

2” sch40 for the 3” 55w max. I bushed down, gluing 2” slip x 1” female thread, with a 1” male x 3/4 barbed fitting to soft black tubing. If in the future there was a need for 1” tubing or pipe it will be easy to change simply with the threaded fitting.

I never saw where it says this in the manual, maybe I skimmed over it, but found it in fine print on their website. The schedule however, was a mystery though and I know they typically cannot be mixed.

Thank you; and that's exact same idea I had. Ordered all the parts last night for it plus some T's to run a manifold for a new reactor. Can't wait to get it all hooked up to my new pump.

This black Friday sale period was an expensive one for me this year lol.
