Anyone running them i saw quite a few being used at a show this weekend and didnt realize price wise they arnt that bad with the plus side being no extra plumbing just plug it in , fill up media and go was thinking one for carbon and one for gfo

I have the large size and so far after a full year I’ve had no issues with it. The replacement pumps if one would fail is very cheap as well which is a plus down the road.
 
Which size did you get?
 
I think you’ll be happy with it. Mine is dead silent but it’s next to my Skimmer so everything is silent compared to a 10” Reef Octopus Skimmer lol
 
Ive got a new essence 130 but havnt fired it up yet im going to run carbon first a guy on a fb page said he couldnt seem to get his slow enough for gfo
 
The only negative thing I can say about that design is that you will want to have a 5 gallon bucket that you fill with your ro/di water to be able to submerge it in to flush the fines when you replace your media as there’s no hose to direct the initial flush into a bucket if you understand what I’m meaning.
