Ahhh, now I know what you are referring to. Thanks.

I'd wager it works just fine. But if you have a fuge that 'leaks' some macro algae every once and a while from the fuge to the sump, you'll just need to clear it a little more often.

I’m looking at utilizing it on a 8” shallow frag tank.

I use the 1 1/2” version on the suction side of my closed loop pump. Works fine.
