lifereef skimmer users

You can email Jeff to order as well, theres a form you can submit on his website. He will probably want to have a call with you to just firm up all the details (Custom colours and what not). The skimmer with the Flange has a particular product number depending on what size you wish to get (I believe there are stock 24 and 30").
I plan on calling tomorrow. To get more information and to make a decision. I've been torn between lifereef, ro and skimz skimmer.

Well I have no previous experience with RO or Skimz but I've heard some rather negative things about the skimz atleast, RO are pretty popular. But after all my research I couldn't really find much to compare with Lifereef... I tell you if you plan on calling Jeff, plan on getting off the phone having just made your order.... He's not only great at making skimmers but he's also great at convincing you that other skimmers aren't worth the plastic they are made out of lol!

starting a new build. Specs are a 75 g reef ready marineland tank
Recommended flow no more than 700 mph.
Been browsing these skimmers. what can anyone tell me about them? not much information from there website. If I decide to go this route how long once I order it will it take to get it?

Shoot Jeff a email off is site, he will response, and give you an eta. I'm not sure what sort of stock he keeps but has already mentioned unless you are doing a custom, or color it may not be long. They are great skimmers. I bought one in 2000 and still using it today. I put it away for a couple years after I took down my 100 and brought it out when I upgraded to a 210 recently. Works just as good today as it did back then.

Thanks Josh I would like to have a 30" model, so the really only three options are Color, Flange and Pump, is that correct?

Here's another vote for LifeReef. I've had mine since 2004, the flanged 24" version on a custom 225. I cleaned it one about 12-14 years ago and broke the body of it where the piping comes out. Had to get a repair from Jeff. It's been running since then with NO CLEANING, other than the cup. Works great.

For the most part yes, there is an ozone kit for the actual skimmer venturi tubing if you plan on running ozone. But other than that those are your options. You might be able to swig sending Jeff some coloured PVC pipe for the internal plumbing as well if you so choose. The In-sump version of the 30 with a flange is the SVS3-30.
