Ok I have a few questions. I am upgrading my lights from 175w halides to 250W. Halides. Should I use the screen method to avoid bleaching or shock? Also I have one new bulb and two old bulbs that were used for over a year that were given to me. I'm thinking about running one new and one old bulb until my other new bulb gets here tuesday or wednesday. Will this be ok or should I just wait until other bulb gets here.

I would go with the new bulbs so you dont have to worry about spectrum shift. you can do a screen, but careful not to melt it. or you can cut your light cycle by a few hours and build it back up.

Where im going to hang lights is where there going to stay. So I can't lower them. They will hang approximately 10 in off top of water . Thats mounted in the top of the canopy.
