I've recently acquired a tank, complete with corals, and was told to set lighting at 70% for 5 days to 'acclimate'. It's been 5 days now so, not knowing where to go from here, I did some research.

So far, what I've found is that light acclimation is used to prevent bleaching when switching to different lighting types or spectrums. Although I did get the AI Prime 16HD from the original owner, I did purchase the exact setup he had and then imported his light schedule into the settings.

Is light acclimation required in this scenario? Also, I am done the recommended 5 day acclimation, do I set the lights to regular intensity, or what else is to be done?

TIA

If you are just essentially moving a complete setup with corals and all, you are good to go to ramp up to the lighting schedule the previous owner had going. I would still ramp no more than a couple of percent per day at this point till you are at the full intensity the previous owner was running, just to be safe.
