Happy New year everyone!

I found some light brown slimy stuff in my sump today, and wondering what it might be.

Tank is new, about 10 days into the cycle.
Been using dry sand and dry rock and dosed with microbacter 7.

It was really slimy, but no smell. I haven't had lights turned on yet.

I did seed the tank with some rinzed frozen food, but haven't had a chance to test for ammonia, as my test was to old, and no reaction (tried with ammoniachloride solution, and still no result on test).
I have no nitrate readings yet, but had 0.05 PO4, using hanna ULR phosphate checker.

Is this just a bit of diatoms?

Probably a bacteria film. Diatoms need light (unless you're lighting your sump). Hard to tell without pics, but assuming it's a thin coating on most sump surfaces. And if that's the case, I wouldn't worry about it as it should go away on it's own with maturing (well, mostly - bacteria is always present so film is always there - just not visible but slimy feel on surfaces is a good thing).

However, if that changes and other characteristics develop please reach out. With pics :)

Well, no lights on sump. There is a film on the DT glas though.
I noticed the slimy stuff as it had accumulated between the baffles in the bubble trap. Flow a bit slow, as I had diverted the return to higher flow in the refugium chamber to dissolve the reef salt, and forgot to set it back.
DT is a bit cloudy right now.
I'll see if more accumulates, and see if I can take a picture.
