I set up a 16" x 16" x 6" tank at the last swap and had a kessil a80 over it. Even though the tank is around 6 gallons it wasn't enough spread to cover the width of the tank. The guy next to me was using AI prime hd and suggested one of those. He even put it on my tank at the end of the swap and it looked good.

What's the best bang for the buck here? I'll only be using the light for swaps two or three times a year and don't have a frag tank at my house. I just make frags and keep them in my display prior to the swap then sell them all.

IMHO, for something you will use so infrequently, I'd be looking at a black box led. Low cost, easy to switch between white and blue channels and can cover 16" easy.

I have been considering that option. Are there dimmable boxes that have knobs similar to the kessils? I like that the kessil had knobs and when people would walk by the could turn up/down the white/blue to match their tank settings.

Most black boxes use knobs.

Get an prime and a junk iPhone, then let anyone viewing change the colors as they choose :)

Hipargero led on Amazon for 60 bucks, or get the name brand one from Logan at reef breeders with a nice USA warranty. Have one on a nuvo 10 and it's nothing short of great.
