Hi all,
I cant keep chaeto alive for the life of me. I moved my xenia to my sump bc my rabbit fish decided it was delicious- but all I have for lighting are red/white leds. What light should i get for a 5 gallon sump for xenia that could also do chaeto if I try that again?
(cheaper is better lol)
Thanks!

I don't think it has the power to get it to survive long term let alone thrive the way you would want. Just based on wattage alone. I run a value 16" SB Reef fixture and I have it at 100% or a little over 100 watts of power and it keeps the Xenia healthy and growing at a good rate all the way to the bottom (18" depth). When I originally placed the Xenia under the light I tried it at 50ish watts and the Xenia at the bottom of the tank were struggling to survive. Xenia love a lot of light. I would find a cheap used black box fixture or or better yet a 150 watt MH fixture. Good luck!
