Just got a new light. Setting it up to hang it above the tank. My hanging kit included a hook. So now I am trying to figure out what I should put up in my ceiling to attach this hook to. I dont have studs anywhere near where I would need them for this so I am going the drywall route.

Let me know your thoughts :)

I was thinking something like one of these two types of toggle bolts. BUT how do I attach a hook or something to one of these that would allow me to hook into it.

Here is a pic of my hook

I would use the second one and instead of the hook just use the wire loop right around the screw use a washer if needed.

What I've done in the past is to attach a board to the ceiling.....let's say a 1 x 4, as an example, that, as a minimum, crosses two hoist. This board gets screwed into the joists with two screws per joist. Now use this board for eye hooks, or whatever hanging hardware you wish to use.

Thanks yall! Ive got it hung up now. Ill be making a build thread here in the next week or so and I will get pics of everything and post em!
