Hey guys I recently inherited a tank from a friend who moved on to a bigger and better set up and was wondering if anyone recognized the light he gave me?
And if so, do you know if it would be able to grow any corals or would I need to upgrade first? Mostly interested in zoa gardens/ and brain coral

Not sure what they are but I would set them up over your table turn them on make sure they work first then get a par meter measure the par from under water at 6” depth if you don’t get 300 or better you won’t be able to grow coral in a tank that it 18” deep.

how can i measure the par? I know they work fine with both the white and blue light on them I've used them as just basic lights for my tank while ive been stocking the fish since i just started the tank ~1.5 months ago

They make par meters Apogee is a manufacturer of a good one just need to find someone close to you at possibly rent it from them. Expensive to purchase.

what brand and stuff is it? I have no idea how to set it up aside from just turning it on and changing the brightness with the buttons

Upgrade. Current is a mid level light and sufficient for bread and butter coral. Even a couple of Orphek bars will offer better results

Current USA Orbit Marine. Search it and can look at reviews and find manual on sites. Like I said good for lessor demand corals but will want something more as you get more corals. This actually works perfect on my QT tank for corals

Ai prime or Kessil A350/360 ..... Best money spent.
Used prime about $150 and Kessil $175-$200

thank you so much!

The brand is Current. They are good light fixtures & it looks like you have their top end model. I know of a guy that has been able to keep & grow soft coral like rhodactis mushrooms & zoas, along with some seriatopora & an enchinopora. I will say the guy doesn’t slack on maintenance, with good husbandry skills & equipment, you can have a great looking tank. Happy reefing.
