Hello all I have asked in se real different locations and unfortunately have had zero response. I understand the lights are new and not much information is out there but I’m wanting to know based on feedback of the light layout I am looking to do will be sufficient for a mixed reef slightly heavier on the sps side from the middle of the tank to the left hand side. I plan on going with 6 xr15 g5 blue. I plan on keeping the lights at 20” off the water. Also I watched the brs video and I just want to be sure I’m understanding correctly should each light be spaced 13” apart for a good even spread.

Thanks all in advance.

I think you'll be stretching the XR15s pretty thin running 6 of them on an 8' x 30" tank. I understand spacing them out and raising them nice and high. Are you planning on mapping the par thru out the tank? I'm sure plenty will be interested in the results.

yea I plan on getting a par meter once I have alll the lights. I’m thinkingof cutting out 2 additional holes that can be removed if needed later on If I need to add More lights towards the rear of the tank.

This is better keeping them inside the braces but you may see some shading still from the braces.
Sorry to say but I like the metal halides and with your tank's openings it is just begging for 3 - 20" hamilton reflectors. Oh the spread and par output plus the full spectrum and natural shimmer that could be achieved lol.

Playing around with some ideas what if I went with this. The red are xr15 and blue is a Xr30. Would that be good to avoid shadowing?
