Light or no light? New tank cycling

I’m sure this has been asked a
Million times but think my question is a little different.
The general question is, can I turn lights on just 8 days into cycling using JBL Denitrol bacteria.

however my question is a bit bigger as I’m wanting to move my corals from my old tank too, I don’t think I can move them and keep the lights off. But then I don’t want to get a shed load of algae as the cycle progresses.I have bought a UV steriliser, I’m thinking of putting this on as soon as I put the lights on.

Am I doing right? At a push I could keep the old tank running a little longer but I really need the room and to get the wife of my back.

Leave the lights off as long as you can resist the temptation to turn them on. Longer the better.

If the new tank is still cycling I’d wait adding corals or fish .

If I was you, and my partner was on my back, I’d stick my uv on 24/7, slowly over the next few days put your lights on, 1 hour 2 hours ect... then acclimate your coral to the new tank,
But I’m no expert and I don’t know how much good that would do, or not,
It’s what I would do if she was on my case
That’s only if the tank is cycled tho!
