I have a 55 gallon mixed reef, 36longx24deepx15wide, with a center overflow. I have one hrdra 52 LED fixture on it. But since it's a center overflow, most of the light is going into that, and is blocked by the return. I was thinking about moving the light forward and angling it about 10-15 degrees. Has anyone ever tried that? And how did out work out?

It's fine.
I haven't but I've been pointing light at really expensive stuff for a long time.

If it hits its target well, it's fine.

I would plug it in and turn it on and audition it hand held and move it around.
Having a friend could help. They might stop for beers on the way over and hold the light too.

But knowing my friends, they'd get drunk and drop the light in my tank.

If your a good friend you'll get drunk first , drop it in your own tank so they have a good story for next week at work.
