Hi guys.

Looking for a light. I have a waterbox penisula mini 25.

I'm not looking for anything super high tech, and it has to be budget. Right now I am looking at a 'Reef Breeders Reef Nano LED'. Anyone have any reviews?

Thanks!

Looks like the WB peninsula mini 25 is 25 gallons with dimensions about 24x16x15".

People do like Reefbreeders Photon lights, but I haven't seen anything posted about the nano/pico lights. They look to be similar to an AI Prime, except a little less powerful (12 x 3 watt LEDs v 16 on the Prime) and slightly cheaper.

It depends on what corals you'll want to keep. I don't think you'll get a full 24" coverage out of one, but you could add another down the road if needed.

A noopsyche K7 would be a similar price. It has 2 pucks instead of 1 and would cover the whole tank. It would be more power than needed, but you can turn it down.
Another 150 dollar option would be a viparspectra, or a Smatfarm. Both of those lights have huge threads on the lighting forum here.

A "rectangular" light would be best for that tank. 50w and dimmable.

100w nicrew with limited cutomability is $150.
Probably 1/2 doz Chinese lights out there in your range.

"Baby" Black box..

Smatfarms

Actually w/ the overflow you prob are more err "square" shaped..
I wasn't assuming mounting it to the overflow in the above suggestions.. sooo nevermind if that is your intention..

An AI Prime is about $250 w/ mount..

I would usually go smatfarms for a budget build but honestly that price increase from them sucks, the light literally cost $100 6 months ago, then got popular and price went up by more than 50%. Now IMO more worth it to buy an orphek or3 or reefbrite lumen v2 for similar prices and buy more bars if you want higher light needing corals

To cover the 24 inch length. Although I’m not sure you can still find 150 watt MH bulbs. I had a 250 watt over a 24” cube that worked well.

You can still find Phoenix 150 watt. Hamilton still has 150 watt in a couple different spectrums. Both DE HQI. Not sure about mogul 150 watt
