So, im about to move back to school and with my scheduled I will have a lot less viewing time of the tank during its normal photo period. Soooo im looking to change that a bit, first off how long can I run the lights? Currently they start ramping up at 2pm and then peak for 3 hours (I think might be longer tho) at 30% and then go back down to 0% by 11pm. Looking at my schedule I think I want to shift that so it starts at 9am and end at 6pm but that has issues as well as I will be up way past 6 and dont want room lights scaring the fish and I also want to look at the tank so......how would running my a360we on full blue at as low of a power as it can go from 6-11pm effect things?

PS. excuse the spelling error in the title I just caught that.

mine starts at 6am and ends at just before 10pm. peak is between 11am and 6pm. blues only at 6 to 730 am and 8 to 10pm. my peak intensity is just around 40,000 lux blues only peak is around 2000 lux if that.

no moons.

edit. your max intensity should be species and tank specific. IMO. if everything is happy dont change the max intensity. just make note of it,

I guess I should mention that by "moonlight" i mean full blues

So with that being said how does 9am-11pm with blues from 9am-10am then ramp up to peak (30%) and stay there from 12-6pm then back down to all blue from 9pm-11pm sound? At least in theory how does it sound, any issues stick out to you with that?

yea sounds about right.

I honestly haven't had any issues with doing this. A couple of my corals grew fast.
