Light Schedule for Fowlr Tank

I am putting up a fowlr tank in about a week and was wondering how important a light schedule is?

Should get a timer to turn lights on/off?
What times to set it for to come on and go off?Is this something that is really helpful to the fish or just for us to see them better.

You can go REAL cheap with the light, definitely doesn’t have to be bright. Shoot even the natural light from the room would do, but you’ll miss out on all those cool colors!

But definitely put a timer on it. Some fish need the light to turn off to sleep. I run mine 6am-9pm.

Interested in this as well. Have a 90 gallon FOWLR and I don't want to leave the lights on for too long. I typically turn on white and blue together in the morning to feed, but then shut them after about an hour. I leave the room lights on. I'll turn the lights back on around 5pm and shut around 10-11pm. I have a timer but haven't set it up yet.

You will be fine lighting the tank anywhere from 8 hours to about 16 hours max, just make sure you use dimmer lights especially if you are running close to 16 hours. I wouldnt turn the light on to feed in the morning and then turn it off, I have wrasse and anthias and both have a tendency to jump when scared, this usually happens for me right after lights out or right when the lights turn on (skittish fish, but easy to see that both get stressed during light changes best not to make too many drastic light changes)
