My Red Sea 350 just finished cycling. Should I start my light schedule while im QTing my fish to start the algae cycle?

i have 2 Red Sea 90s. Until I get coral I was thing of running Blues at 80% white at 40%- this would be for fish only at this time.

Start 9am
Ramp up to 10:30am
Run full until 5:30pm
Ramp down and Off by 7pm
Moon cycle 7pm to 10pm

Also putting pods in next week.

The light would be for you rather than the fish as I understand things and the current wisdom is to keep the lights off or low until you need them (have photosynthetic organisms that you WANT to live). Those lights will be bright enough for you at half of your suggested intensity.

I run a similar schedule for my ReefLed 50.

I turned my lights on for my fish because it was prettier that way. No regrets, but I do have more algae than I would have if I had waited.

Thank you. Ill adjust to 50%Blue 20%white. Will that be sufficient for phytoplankton and pods when they go in next week?

+1
I would keep the light as dim as possible until the corals are going in. It won't prevent algae from growing, but it'll limit their potentials.

Some reefers prefer ratio of 1:3 for white:blue.
