Light setting for Rose BTA

they typically like moderate to high light and flow. I have a rainbow bta and placed mine right in the middle of the tank and middle height (see pic)

I have 2 AI Primes for a 29G running a variation of the Saxby schedule. it's pretty much at 100% on the blue/purple side and 10%-40% for the white/red/greens during peak. Check out the Saxby Sch for details.

the BTA's spot gets about 200 - 250 PAR during the 4 peak hours and he seems to be happy - fully extended during the day and has never moved. Do you know the approx par of your tank at different levels? that's probably the best way to determine, bc depending on the size of your tank and how high you put the prime, the par readings can vary quite a bit. (for ex, the sand part of the of the pic above still gets 150PAR - 175Par during the peak, which some would consider "high" even tho it's on the bottom of my tank)

If i had to just guess, assuming you have a "regular" set up for what a single AI prime is recommended for, I'd put it in the middle height not directly under the light. Worst case scenario it would just move around in your tank until it found a spot it likes. I hope you got a guard for your powerhead if it moves around a lot so you don't risk getting BTA soup.
