Light settings for Nuvo 10 with Al Prime HD

Hi.

We have a Nuvo 10 reef aquarium and the light type Al Prime HD.
We don´t know we have an optimal light settings (the type of settings you can see at the first and second picture, the third pic is our aquarium). We like the colours and light as is seen at the last picture. But we aren´t sure what is the right settings for corals and water, then for cloun fish what we want to buy later.

Please can you give us any recommendations?

The corals look good. I would not mess with the settings. Most fish dont care about too little or too much light. Corals will let you know quickly if something is off.

Looks great! I think the anemone may need more light than 48% peak though- if you do make any adjustments to your light schedule, I’d recommend doing it slowly over a week long period, so the corals can adjust

My tank is definitely still in progress, so please forgive the frag plugs and misplaced corals. Also, my light schedule is far from perfect- I plan to rent a Par reader and try to fine tune it within the next week!

Also also, forgive the intense blue- currently fighting off hair algae, so I’ve reduced whites and reds.

If you have the resources. A par meter will be a good long term investment and will take out all the guesswork on "is it too much/too little light"

I have 2 ai on my 29G and had just assume if I blast it at 100% it "should" be enough for SPS right? Nope! Granted, one of my 2 AI was a first gen, it out put a full 150par less than what was needed.

After my par meter I was able to map out the entire par on my tank and put the various SPs and LPS where they need to be. Some of the locations can even defy common sense - ie, there are a couple of spots on the bottom that have the same amount of par as the middle level because of the internal reflection of light on the glass pane - so the typical "put it on the bottom for low light" would not have been appropriate for those spots.

Looking at yours - is that a duncan I see on the rock peak? Since nems need a lot more light than LPS like duncans or the rest of the softies in your tank, you may benefit a lot from a par meter and map out the par in various parts of your tank to figure out 1) if your currenr% is too weak for the nem or too strong for the rest of the low light corals 2) where to properly put them 3) where to introduce more shades in yourbrock work.

Vypadá skvěle! Myslím, že sasanka možná bude potřebovat více světla než 48% na špičce - pokud provedete nějaké úpravy svého světelného plánu, doporučil bych to udělat pomalu po dobu jednoho týdne, aby se korály mohly přizpůsobit

Totally irrelevant but could I ask how you mount the light to your Nuvo 10? Being in the middle just looks so much cleaner... but there’s no room for a skimmer in the middle.....

Since it loos like you are pretty close to the back wall, can't you just mount it directly to the wall? Just buy an L piece that u typically see for shelf mounts from home depot and some dry wall anchors.

idk why I didn’t think of that.. I was looking into the ceiling ones.... maybe I can use mount and nail the entire thing to the wall... thank you!!!
