Hi all,
So may have a bonus check heading my way and hopeful to upgrade my lights from Viparspectra 165 w LEDs to something better. What would be good suggestions for my tank? (72 long, 30 tall, 24 wide). I have montis and a couple acros, stylos, hammers, torches, mushrooms, birdsnest, brain, bubbles, nems etc. Corlas are on the sand bed to the top of LR (maybe 10 inches below water line). So far my cheap lights are doing okay- corals on the sand bed are growing, acros are doing okay, but the color isnt amazing and I have algae issues and I'm looking for better.
I'd like to keep it around 1K if possible so I cant go super crazy. What are some thoughts on what will get me the best coverage and be good for a 30 inch depth? Thanks!!!!

Evening,

Love the bonus check. Alway awesome. Upgrading with a 1000 may be a bit of a challenge just due to the new spread, but definitely possible .

My first thought would be hit the dry goods for sale forum. There’s usually some good deals. I don’t have experience with the black boxes, but may want to check them out also.

Last thought may be an ATI t5 hybrid, but not sure if you units will fit in the mount.

Let’s bump, see if someone can weigh in on black boxes or other options.
