I'm looking to upgrade the light on this tank because the stock one isn't strong enough for much. What is a good light for this 5 g tank that's reasonable?

AI prime or kessil a160
I think another brand just came out with a nano light but can't remember who

Those seem a bit overkill though don't you think? Trying to keep the budget within reason with this tank.

I would agree with the recommendations above, but if budget is primary concern...

There are numerous folks that use the "black box" LED lights you can get off Ebay. Although I've never personally used them, many indicate they have success in using them and they are pretty budget friendly.

Just food for thought.

buy a good light and not ever purchase again. $150 here and $150 there that adds up to a quality light:)

SBreeflights has a nano Sprite or look at the little par 38's.
And yea it's better to get something good first. Used is a great option.

If you like dui projects you can make your own, I made my own and put each group of the same colors on dimable lights.

Have you heard about the coral box moon LED? We offer them as the Nano Light, they have a built in tank mount and wifi control for under $180, and use Cree LEDs. If you want any more info just let me know, and I am sure some people on here have used them as well.

For a little 5g, I would personally go with a wavepoint led for like $60
