so I've been noticing that when my lights are off they will surge and flash and then go back off i have them connected to a reef keeper light and it seems that every time my my auto top off clicks on this happens to the lights. The auto top off isn't connect to the reef keeper so idn how this happens. The ato is plugged into a powerstrip which is plugged into another small power strip that it shares with the reef keeper. has anybody else had this problem or know what is causing it?

what kind of lights are you currently running?

If LED, T5, VHO, CF or NO then plug them into either the relay outlet on the RKL or a powerstrip with a incandecent night light manually turned on. That should resolve the problem.

my lighting is a 6 bulb tek elite and it is already plugged into the relay outlet on the rkl

only think i can think is to try to put a light with incandescent bulb on with them on a power strip and see if that helps.
If that fails try to contact DA for help.

I figure it has something to do with the cheap ballasts that are used. I have T-5's over my 90 with an Icecap 660 ballast and they don't do it.
