Light time for Euphyllia

Hello everyone, I just got a Euphyllia today and add it to my reef tank, in a few hours she was fully open and seems to be happy, I just noticed that she fully retracted when I switched off the led for dark hours, which I assume is normal but just want a second opinion to check if I’m doing it right. I’m doing 12hrs led on (acclimation mode ON) and 12hrs of dark, am I on the right path?

Btw the led is a AI PRIME 16HD

If its open and healthy during the day dont worry at night most coral and Euphyllia close or shrink at night.

Essentially, the ideal time to have your lights on full is between 9 and 12 hours. Providing ramp up and ramp down time if possible. This gives the coral enough time (roughly 9 hours) to grow and reward from the photosynthesis. The low intensity lighting time, or ramping time, gives you more time to enjoy your reef tank! Giving you the best of both worlds.

I have euphyllia in a tank with 10 hours of lighting and another with 14. It doesn’t matter just give them 8+ hours of light. They will retract or deflate somewhat at night.

For best growth feed it in the day time. You can take mysis, flake, or pellet, and gently squirt some into the tentacles and it will pull the food into the mouth

Generally the day after feeding they might not inflate / extend fully as they digest, perfectly normal. They will grow faster if you feed them and allow these natural processes (catching food, eating, digestion) to happen

What are your prime settings, how large is the tank? Flow is also important, they should be waving around gently but not like a flag in a windstorm.

Thanks for all the answers lads, I was probably just overthinking but wanted to make sure. The tank is 20gallon Red Sea Nano Max - with different light and wave maker running on medium (wave mode) and sleep mode during night time, 2 clownfishes and 1 Euphyllia
