Aside from buying an actual aquarium controller, are there any options for having multiple channels?
I want 4 separate channels (or more) just on/off. I know about the dual channel power strips, but was looking for more...any suggestions?

I just use several of the normal light timers you get at HD.

+1 on them nice cheap alternative and they work great.

I have over 7,000,000 of those, ok maybe like 5. They are too bulky though, I can get 2 timers and 1 powerhead on my strip :/

Some places sell power strips where one side is on a timer, the other side isn't. I'll try to find a link for you

I have one of those Hooked up now, 2lights and 2 powerheads are on the timer and the other 2 are not. I'm getting a 2nd light (thanks reef breeders!) in the mail soon and wanted a 4 stage light cycle.
I know! I'm being complicated haha. I guess i could buy a 2nd power strip

Or you could go big... I used all these timers when I had 5 MH, 2 sets of t5 and some led stunners. Now, with EverGrow led fixtures I don't need any!

Generic Error use one of these. I just wish the individual plugs were programmable, I'm about to buy another one to run my lights on different schedules.

Ugh...problem solved but OCD attack due to a mess of timers and surge protectors.

This is what I had to do lol, but it was with things I had already so it was free.

Original 4plugs have the blue channels and 2 powerheads on opposite ends to come on from 4pm-4am (to combat heat, not that there is much from the LEDs) and then I got a 3 outlets gfci adapter and plugged that into another timer that goes from 5pm-3am an has just the white channels, with an extra spot for a future surge device pump.

Then I have a 3rd timer for my stink tanks LEDs which run from 2am-6pm on revers cycle from the display.

I'm eventually going with a diy timer box that has 8 timers for 8-16 outlets and will look much neater.

I figured out a good way to eliminate the need for a moonlight timer, I will have it always plugged in but there will be a light censor inline that comes on when the tank lights turn off. I'm deciding what LEDs to use on that still too. Leanin towards full spectrum since the moon is :)
