Light upgrade

I currently have the coralife hqi with moonlights and pc actinics (96w)
I am really thinking about going to a new lighting set up. The hqi fixture really doesn't spread out very far. I have a tek-mate w/ 6 bulb set up, I would add lights to accomidate my corals. It is a 4-foot set up, so I am short on an end. I may add a 250w on the other side, to keep acros happy. Are the t-5's a better set up than the coral life or should I go with something else?

the t5 setup is more than enough light even more than the 150w coralife halide


also i would suggest shading the tank for the first week or raise the unit high because the t5 spread is more than halides
