Hi all,

Thinking about selling my 3 first gen radion pros. They have been upgraded with wide angle lenses and diffusers. Not sure how to price them. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Matt

I'd guess maybe $100 per unit.

I sold my 4 G1 xr30's last year for $150 per, that's when the G4's where still demanding about $100 more as aswell. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Seems a bit low for the next gen with wide angle lenses and diffusers but, maybe all sellers think that. If they are only worth $100 each, I'll probably just keep them, maybe through them over a freshwater planted tank.

Any idea how old they are?

They are only worth what someone else will pay for them..
Thanks for the helpful comment:). It's like someone asking whether they should list their house for sale and, if so, at what price, and getting the response, well your house is only worth what someone will pay for it...........

From the two boxes I have left, it looks like May of 2013 (I would have guessed like 6 years old, time flies when you're having fun). For most of their life, they've run over a 180 gallon reef tank as a part of a hybrid system with 4 t-5 bulbs so, they were turned up very high.

I mean 8 year old lights plus they are way behind in the tech now with new radions.

I definitely agree that the new gen 5 Radions are very different (and better) tech. I think Ecotech was smart to abandon the 'pucks' in favor of panels. I also think the gen 2 Radions were a pretty big step up from the gen 1s. I'm less convinced that there's a ton of difference between the gen 2 through gen 4 Radions, particularly if you add wide angle lenses and diffusers to them. But, new gen 5 Radions will cost you 900 bucks each. Honestly, if I needed a number of fixtures, I think I'd rather have 4 gen 2 Radion pros and a little change in my pocket than one of the new lights but, that's just me. I understand that opinions may differ and it depends on how much cash you want to spend on your tank and where you want to spend it.

What I mean by that is one person told you 100$ and the next told you 250-300 and you right away think you gonna get 300$. I’m saying don’t over price yourself but price in the middle

Thanks. I didn't/don't think I'll get $300/each for the lights. I'm hoping 200-250 is the right ballpark but, we'll see.
