I currently have a t5ho 36" fixture running three working lights. It's currently sitting on my 29g tank. At 39w a piece, it puts 117w of light going in my tank, where I have run 78 watts of light going in prior, with everyone doing well. The tank is 24" long. So the end if the light isn't over the water. Should I keep this or go with the old one. If I should keep this, I have 2 420 actenic and 1 460. Is that ok or should I look at adding a daylight? My bf really likes the look of the tank right now.

I agree, it looks good, I'm partial to a more 20K look myself but that is ultimately up to you. I don't think your doing any harm having the fixture hang a little over on each side....

Also, a 29 gallon is on the deeper side so having the extra wattage to penetrate down is a good thing IMO....

Most corals will do fine with a bluer spectrum, you get more growth from a 6500k or a 10000k "daylight" bulb but as long as everything looks like it's doing well & your happy then I'd leave it
