Hello,
I've been out of the hobby for several years and I am planning on starting a new tank in the next few months and lighting has changed a LOT since I've been active in the reef world. I have a 56g tank that I am going to use as a display tank, 30x18x24. I want to keep a mixed LPS/SPS tank but tend to go towards the way of SPS. Looking at the Ocean Revive t247, but it seems like I'm at a difficult spot with the coverage. One would be a little bit shy of what I needed while two would be overkill. They rate their SPS coverage at 26x18 and Mixed coverage at 32x24. Would one give me the coverage I need, or should I go with two and tone them back? Or is there another light that would make more sense for my setup? Thanks in advance.

Future tank specs:
56g DT 30x18x24
150g sump

Depends on budget. I'd go with a kessil 500 but I'm a kessil lover.

When I left the hobby, I had two 350's over a 75 and loved them. I saw the 500 and love the idea but $700+ may be a bit more than I'm looking to spend, at least to start. I do eventually plan to upgrade the DT to a larger size, which is why I'm putting the 150g sump in the basement and plumbing it.

Better to spend money once instead of twice.

if you are ok limiting the area where the sps will be in your tank, you could be fine with a single light.

the kessil is a completely different league.
