I am picking up my 60g column tank tomorrow it is 20"x24"x30" the 30" is the height. I already have a unit that someone made that is 24 3w cree LEDs. I am wondering if I stayed with all LED how many more would I need? Or should I go with some T5 or a small MH with the LED's?

What are you trying to keep? And how far down the tank do you want corals? Like on the sandbed? Do the LEDs have optics?

Mostly LPS and zoas but yes I would like coral on the sand bed. They LEds have 60 degree optics on them.

What kind of LED's? If they are all XM-L's for instance, they will blow your tank out of the water. Colors and models please.

They are Cree XR-E and XP-G 3 watt Cree LED. The LED's cover a bout 15"X6" on the fixture they are put into.

How about model numbers (tells color and bins) and number of each? Are they all running at the same current or ??? I find it hard to believe that both the XR-E and XP-G's are both running at 3 watts each...
