Hey all. I’m at the final stages of a 120 build. I just got wet tonight but need to make more water until I’m full.
I’m doing a bare bottom 120 with a 40b sump. About 40% of the sump is a refugium. Since this is bare bottom, my refugium is stuffed full of rock to give me more area for nitrifying bacteria, and also to be a breeding ground for pods so one day I can hopefully have a fat and happy Mandarin. I do not plan on growing any algae in my fuge.
Because of this, do I need to light my fuge? Will pods reproduce in the dark?
Thanks

If you are not growing algae then no light needed.
