Hey guys,

I presently have a 72 Gal. mixed reef wherein I am using a Haqos KX120 T5 fixture with 4 T5s all 54W each (2 blue and 2 white) alongwith 2 RedSea Reef Spec T5s 39W each (one pink and one actinic). Things are going well.

I am now on the verge of starting my second tank..... its gonna be a reef as well, mainly SPS, and I need lighting advice.

The tank dimensions are 60" x 18" x 24" and I would like to keep a sand bed of atleast 3 to 4 inches... may go with more. Anyway LR will also be added to the setup.

I am undecided between a fixture with 4 T5s and 2 halides Versus one with 8 T5s. The latter is easily available.

In addition to SPS, I would like to keep a maxima clam which I have in my existing setup and seems to be doing well.

Thanks

8 T5s would do ya very nicely, and you'd be able to pick a wide range of coloring for the tank.

I run 8 bulb ATI Sunpower my 48x24x24 sps tank and it more than enough light.

thanks, here's the combo I have in mind

4 x REEF-SPECâ„¢ BlueWhite 15000K,
2 x
REEF-SPECâ„¢ Actinic 22000K,
2 x
REEF-SPECâ„¢ Pink.

All Red Sea Reef Spce T5s

Im not much if a fan of the pink, ever thought of the blue +?
