Hey all. I was hoping to get some insight and opinions on best led systems to use...cost vs effectiveness. I have a 29gal and am currently running a 250w MH. I also thing i have light to close to water....lots of algae growth. Coraline and other. Also vinegar dosing may have helped there. Hood is from old hex tank all help is much appreciated

Or you could raise the light you have about 16" off the top of the tank.
 
Definitely rise the light up higher. If you like the MH, I would stick to it. Much better growth! IMO
 
The Pro model would work, I don't suggest on a tank deeper than 12-13 inches though unless it's a fowlr.
 
I suppose ill build a suitable hood and raise halide about a foot for now and see how it goes....cheapest route for now... will this help slow down algae growth?

Use some phosphate removing media and the algae will disappear
